Background

• The CME Reference Data API provides product and instrument reference data for all CME Group, BrokerTec, EBS, Hosted Partners and CME Group-cleared markets, via a set of JSON RESTful web service APIs that provide real-time restricted access to product and instrument referential data.

Whisperer uses this API internally, as part of the implementation of the following venues: 

• ebs_market_ilink3_sbe
• cme_ilink2

Change

• The CME is migrating clients to version 3 of the CME Reference Data API, hosted on Google Cloud.

Timeline

• CME Group recommends that users should migrate to CME RD APIv3 as soon as possible.
• Beginning on Saturday, September 30, version 2 will be deprecated and no further enhancements will be made.
• Version 2 will be decommissioned on Friday, October 27.

MarketFactory completed the migration to the new API in release 2023.08.18.WE. 

Clients are advised to contact MarketFactory Contact to ensure that they are upgraded to this version or later, prior to 30 September 2023.
