Drop copy service as previously stated in this document is a mechanism that allows for the transfer of execution trade information through Whisperer to a customer application via the MFClient. An MFClient user can then connect to Whisperer and subscribe to the drop copy service through the use of a 'drop copy user'.
The STP Bridge operates as an additional layer of abstraction that makes use of the drop copy messages. The Bridge receives the messages from the API Server and translates the drop copy message to a different format and directs delivery to a back office customer application. The supported translation depends on the accepted delivery format of the back office application.
Once established the bridge requires near to no manual intervention as the messages continue along the bridge when received to the back office application, the bridge is started before market open and remains running till market close to ensure no messages are missed. The STP Bridge is agnostic to the type of feed or connection and makes no distinction between maker or taker, rather collecting all messages enumerated as 'TradeCapture' messages.
The STP Bridge is strictly available for SBE implementations only, the bridge cannot be supported by any version of the classic Whisperer implementation. |
